BMW 318i (E30)

The second generation of the BMW 3 Series was launched in 1982. It was manufactured with an unparalleled diversity of models not yet seen at BMW and broke all previous sales records of the company up to 1991 with more than 2.3 million units sold. After the Type 316i, the BMW 318i provided the most economic entry into the BMW 3 Series. From 1984, a catalytic converter was available on request and a completely new four-cylinder power unit was launched in 1987.
