HISTORY REPEATING. THE TECHNO-CLASSICA 2018.
This is a place where you open your eyes to see your dreams. The Techno-Classica show in Essen celebrates over 100 years of automotive history; nowhere else can classic fans get closer to the historic machines over which they love to lust. The world’s largest show for vintage cars and motorcycles, recent classics and replacement parts will open its doors for the 30th time on 21 – 25 March 2018, the more than 1,250 exhibitors and 200 clubs, 21 halls and 4 open-air areas laying on a unique experience for visitors.
Milestones of mobility.
Get a close-up view of the classics from the last 100 years at the “100 Masterpieces” exhibition in the BMW Museum marking the BMW Group centenary year. One hundred years of BMW Group history are on display from the very beginnings in 1916 until the present day. For this purpose, 100 masterpieces have been selected that best testify to the innovation and enterprise shown by the company in various epochs. These masterpieces are displayed on a total of five platforms in the Museum Bowl and also in some areas of the permanent exhibition.
GETTING STUCK IN.
Wild, colourful, wacky – that’s how we remember the 1970s. At least, those of us who were young at the time do, or those whose parents talked about it. And it is exactly that era in which the creme21 youngtimer rally has its origins, extending into the 1980s and even achieving cult status in its own right.
TIME MACHINE. THE GOODWOOD REVIVAL.
The starting flag is lowered and a pack of historical racing and touring cars hurtles away with smoking tyres. The tenth of a second later and metre battle commences. And this all with cars and motorbikes, which should actually be on display in a museum because they were racers of a fascinating, bygone era from 1948 to 1966.
GENTLEMEN, START YOUR EMOTIONS.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is an overwhelming onslaught on the senses of old-timer and racing enthusiasts. Nowhere else will you find such an abundance of historic top-class racing and rally cars as here. And nowhere else will these machines have the opportunity to push themselves to their limits one more time.
A BREATH OF FRESH EIRE – THE INTERNATIONAL MINI MEETING 2017 IN IRELAND.
In 2017, the International Mini Meeting - the 39th - will be held in Ireland for the second time. Over 100 clubs will be celebrating a legendary car that packs a real punch behind its round headlamps, and still refuses to grow up.
What sort of rally is it then? No cars that are more expensive than 1,111 euros or younger than 20 years old. But 5,555 kilometres from Oberstaufen in Allgäu to your destination of Amman in Jordan. No motorways allowed. Or navigation devices. Otherwise, you are free to choose your route. The Allgäu-Orient 2017 calls for improvisational skills and a great sense of humour.
Techno-Classica Essen is one of the largest old-timer fairs in the world and each year, it sets new yardsticks. In 2017, the halls will open up again between 05 – 09 April: A venue for 1,250 exhibitors from 30 countries and over 220 clubs to celebrate the fascination of old-timers on a XXL scale.
PEDAL TO THE METAL.
Finally, the winter break is over - at any rate, it is in the south of England. This is where his lordship, the Earl of March will open the seventy-fifth Goodwood Members Meeting on the weekend of the 18th and 19th March 2017. This thoroughly British event sweeps away the last grain of dust from the historic metal sheeting of old racing cars. This is because here, it's about getting down to brass tacks. "Pedal to the metal" is both a motto and a point of honour at the same time. Nowhere else can the spirit of old authors be better experienced than here. A new season cannot really start finer.
100 years of the BMW Group.

The group of participants couldn’t be more varied: they include regional clubs from Munich and the surrounding area, BMW Classic Club Estonia, the BMW Z8 club and will be bringing a fleet of modern beauties and classics on which to feast your eyes. It will be a unique parade of BMWs past and present and the ideal opportunity for fans to get together and share their passion.
The king is back.
Elvis Presley, King of Rock ’n’ Roll, drove a BMW 507 while serving in the military in Germany. After its sensational rediscovery and meticulous restoration, the superstar's sports car will be making a visit back home to the USA. It will be presented to the world for the first time during the Concours d’Elegance in Pebble Beach.
Festival of Speed.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is the largest motor sport festival in the world. It is home to a unique mix of historic and contemporary racing cars, unusual show cars and many other notable motor vehicles - the perfect stage for the BMW Group to celebrate their 100th anniversary.
How is May so beautiful.
“Beauty is a very welcome guest”, goes the saying. We say: That’s right! Especially if it comes in the form of such spectacular vehicles like those at the Concorso d‘Eleganza.
From 20–22 May 2016 the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este and the Villa Erba in Cernobbio on Lake Como will again be converted into a unique and exclusive stage for the most beautiful historic valuables from the last decades. But the future is also moving forward: Visitors have the opportunity to take a look into the future of automobiles with exciting concept cars and prototypes. Excited anticipation is guaranteed!
DASHING GOOD LOOKS.
Does classic beauty make your heart beat faster? Then set a course for the Villa d’Este luxury hotel – and don’t spare the horses. The Concorso d’Eleganza 2015 will provide the stage for the world’s most breathtaking classic cars and motorcycles from 22 – 24 May 2015. And this year, the beauty contest on the banks of Lake Como will direct its spotlight squarely on the 1970s.
NOSTALGIA ON FOUR WHEELS.
Spectacular landscapes, the Eternal City and the open sea: from 14 – 17 May 2015, the legendary long-distance road event will take place along its customary route from Brescia to Rome and back. The original race was staged in Italy from 1927 to 1957 before being revived in 1977, since when it has been held annually. Featuring vintage and classic automobiles, it is one of the highlights on the calendar for all classic car enthusiasts. That’s hardly surprising, since not only is the route an endless feast for the eyes, but the field of participants literally swarms with automotive eye candy. Only cars that took part in the original Mille Miglia from 1927 to 1957 are eligible for entry, turning the Mille Miglia into a spectacular rolling museum of cars.
40 YEARS – BUT NOT A BIT DATED.
A 40th birthday demands to be celebrated in due style, particularly if it is the big-0 of a genuine crowd-pleaser – the BMW 3 Series!
It was 40 years ago that this model series was born. Today it is regarded as the very heart of the brand. To celebrate the birth of this car, the BMW Museum is laying on an exciting special exhibition. From 8.05 - 05.07.2015 visitors can trace the development of the first BMW 3 Series from the seventies across several generations all the way to the current model in a vivid and compelling historical sweep.
VINTAGE, FASHION, FUN AND WHEELS.
Not everyone wants to enjoy the here and now. Indeed, a penchant for living in the past marks out a true classic car fan – which makes the Goodwood Revival Meeting one of the highlights of the year. Held annually in September on the Earl of March’s estate in Goodwood, England, this world-famous festival of motor sport is firmly rooted in the 1940s, 50s and 60s. And it isn’t only the assembled gems of the car and motorcycle world that hark back to the era in question – the majority of visitors are decked out in clothing from the same period, lending the festival a historically authentic ambience at every turn.
The presentation of the Trofeo BMW Group set a glorious seal on the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2014 in Cernobbio, northern Italy, on Sunday. Visitors from around the world once again flocked to Lake Como in their thousands at the weekend to experience the parades of exclusive classic vehicles at the tradition-laden beauty contest for historic cars and motorcycles.
