BMW 520d Touring (E39)

From February 2000, the BMW 5 Series was expanded to include a new entry-level model. The tried-and-tested four-cylinder diesel engine was already familiar from the BMW 320d and it was also fitted here. This model version was exclusively supplied with a five-speed manual gearshift. The BMW 5 Series fitted with the engine proved to be an ideal fleet vehicle with low maintenance costs and found particular service as a touring car.
