BMW 324td (E30)

The second generation of the BMW 3 Series was launched in 1982. It was manufactured with an unparalleled diversity of models not yet seen at BMW and broke all previous sales records of the company up to 1991 with more than 2.3 million units sold. Starting in 1985, the BMW 324d provided a vehicle with a six-cylinder diesel engine for the first time in the BMW 3 Series. The BMW 324td was launched as a more powerful version with exhaust turbocharger and generating 115 hp from 1987. This engine had been setting benchmarks in the diesel class since its debut with the BMW 5 Series in 1983.
