In the autumn of 2000, the BMW 325i Sedan replaced the BMW 323i Sedan. A new six-cylinder inline engine was installed in the car (M54B25), which now achieved a maximum power output of 192 hp. The engineering of the sedan was closely related to its predecessor model. It was therefore also provided with variable Double VANOS, along with a cylinder head and a crankcase made of a lightweight alloy. A SULEV version powered by a special M56 engine offered better exhaust values and was manufactured for some states in North America. The BMW 325i Sedan was mainly produced in Munich up until the year 2005 but it also rolled off the assembly lines in Regensburg and Rosslyn (South Africa).
