BMW 319 model

In 1935, BMW developed a 1.9 litre engine from the 1.5 litre power unit installed in the BMW 315. Initially, this power plant debuted in the sports car BMW 319/1, before it too entered series production (albeit with slightly lower output). The model was supplied in five body versions, as well as a small number of sports convertibles manufactured by Reutter and Drauz. There were only minor differences in the engineering and appearance compared with the BMW 315 model, for example different gear ratios and a larger petrol tank. Nevertheless, both models were supplied in parallel between 1935 and 1937.
