BMW 3.0 CSL (E9), 206 hp

The final development of the BMW 3.0 CSL came onto the market in July 1973 and today it is called the "Batmobile" ("Batmobil"). Equipped on the technology side with an even bigger engine (M30B32) and fitted with electronic injection, the power plant now generated 206 hp and was therefore the most powerful version of the BMW E9 model series. The vehicle was dubbed "Batmobile" ("Batmobil") because of the striking aerodynamic package. This was sometimes included as an accessory for motor-sport campaigning because the installed package had not been licensed for road use. Only 169 units of this very popular model today had been manufactured up until October 1975.
