On the occasion of the presentation of the BMW 315 at the Berlin Motor Show held in 1934, the prototype of a roadster was also launched in the public arena there. The two-seater manufactured in a small series under the designation BMW 315/1 ranked among the sports cars of its era to be taken seriously with a top speed of 120 km/h. On the race track, it notched up victories and placings at the front of the field in the 1.5 litre class. Up to the middle of 1935, only 230 examples of this exclusive model were produced.
