BMW 525i touring (E39)

With the model update in the autumn of 2000, the BMW 5 Touring also received new six-cylinder engines. The BMW 525i now replaced the BMW 523i, but offered a significant power increase of 22 horsepower with the same displacement. Like the other six-cylinder gasoline engines, the BMW 525i received a fully electronic throttle valve. This allowed the engine to respond even more spontaneously to accelerator commands.
