BMW 540i Sedan (E39)

Aside from the BMW M5, the 540i was the most powerful version in this model series. The extremely high-torque engine with a displacement of 4.4 litres offered high traction and superlative comfort when travelling on long journeys. The combination of an eight-cylinder engine with a six-speed manual gearbox was a particularly attractive proposition for sporty drivers.
