BMW 3 Series Coupé (E46)

The BMW 3 Series Coupé (E46, also E46/2) was presented at the Geneva Motor Show 1999, just under a year after the successful presentation of the sedan (E46/4). Although it was longer and wider on paper compared to its predecessor (BMW 3 Series Coupé E36), it appeared more compact. This was due to the more inclined windshield and the resulting shorter roof. Compared to the saloon, the coupé was not only visually sportier, but also had a sportier chassis set-up as standard. The front and rear differ from the sedan in many small details; the bumper strips on the sides were painted in body color. In 2003, the Coupé was redesigned. All just under 450,000 Coupés were manufactured at the Regensburg site.
