BMW 5 Series Sedan (E39)

The design of the new BMW 5 Series introduced in 1995 was primarily the responsibility of Joji Nagashima. The BMW 5 Series Sedan was impressive with a side profile emulating a coupé and aerodynamically optimised contours. The round double headlamps were installed behind the same glass cover for the first time in the model series. Light rings for the position light had been a typical BMW characteristic for a long time and they were introduced when the revision was carried out for the model year 2001.
