The third model generation of the BMW 3 Series was initially launched on the market as a four-door sedan in the autumn of 1990. The complete redevelopment was a significant improvement in all respects compared with its predecessor and won over an expectant BMW 3 Series customer base right from the start. In 1995, a new generation of the big BMW six-cylinder engines made its debut for the 3 Series. The versions 323i and 328i replaced the previous model 325i. The new 2.8 litre lightweight alloy engine was an outstanding performer offering unique smooth-running characteristics and agile driving pleasure.
