The third generation of the BMW 3 Series had an unparalleled model diversity. After the debut of the 3 Series Sedan in 1990 and the 3 Series Coupé in 1991, the new convertible followed in 1993. The profile of the convertible and the coupé was dominated by the extended and flattened engine hood and created a very elegant and sporty effect. The BMW 320i Convertible with the revised six-cylinder engine generated 150 hp and was already launched shortly after the first new-generation convertible, the BMW 325i Convertible.
