BMW 3 Series (E36)

The third generation of the BMW 3 Series (E36) was presented at the end of 1990 and replaced the BMW 3 Series (E30). The number of model variants offered far exceeded that of its predecessor. For the first time, there was also a coupé and a shortened version with a hatchback (Compact). The BMW Z3 roadster was also based on the BMW 3 Series (E36). The exterior design, which took great account of aerodynamic aspects, visually made it very different from its predecessor. In addition to occupant safety and sportiness, technical attention was also increasingly focused on aspects of environmental protection and resource conservation.
