The BMW 1800 TI was launched simultaneously with the BMW 1800 at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show in 1963. It appealed to customers espousing particularly sporty aspirations. The vehicle came very close to a fully fledged sports car with an engine output of 110 hp and outstanding performance characteristics. The exterior of the new model was discreetly understated. Only the model badge on the rear indicates that this was the most powerful version in the New Class (Neue Klasse). At the beginning of 1966, the BMW 1800 TI was replaced by the BMW 2000 TI.
