The "grand" ("große") BMW 335 was in principle a 326 where the front end had been extended to accommodate a new six-cylinder engine. It also adopted the headlamps from the BMW 327 integrated aerodynamically into the contour of the wings. The interior was even more exclusive than in the 326. Three fold-down armrests were integrated in the wide rear seat to significantly increase the lateral support for passengers sitting in the rear. If there was not sufficient space for baggage in the trunk, two robust bars could be folded out to accommodate a large suitcase.
