BMW finally moved on from the angular, box-like design of the 1920s and early 1930s when it launched the BMW 326. It was the first BMW to be given the markedly rounded nose adorned with the kidney-shaped grille. The remainder of the design with a lot of soft curves and flowing lines also evidenced the influence of American bodywork styling. Four large doors made it easy to get into the interior of the car, which was generously proportioned and could accommodate five people. The equipment with comfortable seats, beautiful upholstery fabric and armrests also satisfied the more sophisticated demands of customers.
