BMW 329 Convertible 4-seater

BMW offered this version as a "special model" ("Sondermodell"). It combined the proven engineering of the BMW 319 with the more modern style elements of the BMW 326. This approach was intended to plug the financial gap between the formally outmoded models based on tubular frames, which were in the process of being discontinued, and the "new countenance" ("neues Gesicht") of the more expensive models. However, the result was never entirely convincing since no stylistically harmonious line could be achieved for the 4-seater convertible.
