BMW GLAS Coupés

When Hans Glas GmbH was taken over on January 2, 1967, BMW entered into supply contracts with Italian designer Pietro Frua. These also required acceptance of a specified number of bodies for the Glas V8 and Glas 1300/1700 GT models, which Frua had commissioned for manufacture at the small bodywork company Magiore near Turin. BMW modified the coupés and marketed them under the designation BMW 3000 V8 and BMW 1600 GT.
