BMW 503 Coupé

The BMW 503 celebrated its debut at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show in September 1955. The luxurious 2+2 seater coupé originated from the pen of Albrecht Graf Goertz, like the convertible and roadster BMW 507. From May 1956 until the end of production in spring of 1960, only 273 coupés were handbuilt by artisanal craftsmanship. The price tag just shy of DM 30,000 and the lightweight alloy V8 engine generating 140 hp made the BMW 503 one of the most exclusive automobiles of its era.
