BMW 1600 TI

Starting in model year 1968, BMW offered enthusiasts of sporty driving the Type 1600 TI delivering an output of 105 hp. The additional power of 20 hp compared with the basic 1600 model was derived from the use of two twin-barrel carburettors and an increase in the compression. Top speed of the fast BMW 1600 TI was around 175 km/h and this BMW was only built around 9,000 times until production was discontinued in December 1968. This statistic is a factor that today makes the BMW 1600 TI a much-coveted example among circles of enthusiasts.
