BMW 1500

The first model in the BMW model series "New Class" ("Neue Klasse"), the BMW 1500, was launched at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show in 1961. This automobile had a modern, sporty and elegantly styled design - just what a host of BMW enthusiasts had been waiting for. It established the style and ushered in the success of modern BMW automobiles. The five-seater car was produced exclusively with a four-door body. In December 1964, production of the BMW 1500 was discontinued. The BMW 1600 was its successor and this car was in production from spring 1964 as an entry-level model.
