BMW M roadster (E36)

The BMW M Roadster was launched in 1997 and was the flagship model of the BMW Z3 Series (E36). It was based on the engineering of the BMW M3 (E36). Two different engines from M GmbH were installed (S50 and S54). Each power unit had a displacement of 3.2 litres and their performance in the BMW M Roadster only differed slightly. A number of sporty styling cues augmented the exterior and interior of the BMW M Roadster. It also featured slightly more upscale equipment. 15,322 vehicles were manufactured over a comparatively long production run - of which 10,503 roadsters were destined for the American market alone.
