BMW 850i (E31)

The BMW 850i was the first model of the new BMW 8 Series (E31) and customers were able to purchase the model from 1989. This automobile ranked among the most exclusive sports cars of its time. The V12 engine delivered an output of 300 hp from a displacement of 4988 cc. The equipment was extremely luxurious and the sports car was fitted with many of the technical highlights prevalent in the era. With effect from the model update carried out in 1992, the BMW 850i was renamed BMW 850Ci, although the engine and power initially remained unchanged. In spite of the hefty price tag of DM 135,000, more than 20,000 units of the BMW 850i were produced and sold up until 1994.
