The BMW 733i took the top ranking among the new BMW 7 Series models introduced from 1977 onwards. Up until 1979, it was the only 7 Series model to be equipped with a fuel injection engine. From the summer of 1979, the car was replaced by the new BMW 732i fitted with Europe's first digital engine electronic system (Bosch Motronic). This vehicle enabled BMW to establish its technological leadership in the field of vehicle electronics.
