BMW Z4 M (E85/E86)

The BMW Z4 M succeeded the BMW Z3 M but it was positioned in a more upscale market segment due to the rather more sophisticated equipment and overall larger dimensions. A decision was therefore taken to rename the BMW Z3 as the BMW Z4. As was already the case with the BMW Z3 M, the BMW Z4 M was supplied as a roadster (E85) and coupé (E86). The roadster version was presented in October 2005 but the coupé version was only presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2006. The vehicles were equipped with the engine from the BMW M3 (E46) (S54B32). Production took place exclusively at the American Spartanburg Plant (South Carolina) and it lasted over the very short space of time of just under three years.
