BMW M3 Coupé (E46)

Once again, the design of the BMW M3 (E46) tended to return to the roots of the BMW M3 (E30) and differed more significantly from the series version than the BMW M3 (E36). The wheel arches were significantly wider, specially contoured side skirts complemented front and rear aprons, and there was a spoiler lip at the rear and a bulge (power dome) in the engine hood. Another identifying feature is provided by the gills in the front wheel arches, although they do not fulfil a technical function. From November 2004, customers were able to order the "Competition Package" ("Competition Paket") as a supplementary option for the coupé, which reprised some elements of the M3 CSL.
