BMW M5 (E34), 340 hp

In January 1992, an upgraded version of the BMW M5 (E34) was launched on the market after significant technical revision. The most important innovation related to the engine with the displacement being increased to 3.8 litres. This made the S38B38 the biggest six-cylinder engine ever built by BMW. Additional changes were also carried out within the engine including an increase in output to 340 hp, which made the BMW M5 the most powerful series sedan in Germany in 1992. A last model revision was finally carried out in 1994, involving additional technical improvements and a facelift for the visual appearance.
