BMW Grand Sedan (E3)

In November 1968, production of the big BMW six-cylinder sedans at the top of the range started up. The "Grand Sedans" ("Große Limousinen") (E3) represent luxury and sportiness in equal measure. The design created under the influence of Giovanni Michelotti is understated but the interior styling is very luxurious. Furthermore, different versions with a longer wheelbase created more comfort in the rear. A model revision for the "Grand Sedans" "Große Limousinen") was carried out in 1971, which were increasingly appealing to customers in the major export markets (most importantly in the USA). The models there also went under the name BMW Bavaria.
