BMW 335 model

The most luxurious BMW from the pre-war period was the BMW 335 which was the last BMW to go into series production before the war broke out in 1939. The body was essentially a 326 body extended by 23 cm. The increased weight required more powerful brakes and wider tyres. The 3.5 litre inline six-cylinder engine was completely new with a maximum output of 90 hp. The luxurious interior and the top speed of 145 km/h made the BMW 335 a comfortable yet fast touring car and enabled BMW to enter the segment for luxury cars.
