From 2000 onwards, the BMW 330i Touring was the flagship model of the BMW 3 Series (E46). This meant it replaced the BMW 328i Touring (E46). The newly developed 3.0 litre six-cylinder inline engine (M54B30) featured the application of Double VANOS and achieved impressive driving performance while maintaining low fuel consumption. The BMW 330i Touring accelerated from a standing start in the sprint to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. The practical bodywork incorporated a large tailgate and plenty of space. Customers had to pay the remarkable price of some DM 68,000 for the overall package, a price tag that was around DM 3,000 more expensive than that of the BMW 330i Sedan.
