BMW 330Cd Coupé (E46)

At its debut, the BMW 330Cd Coupé broke an absolute taboo. Prior to this, combining a sporty coupé with a diesel engine was unheard of. However, the BMW high-tech diesel engine (M57D30TÜ) generating maximum power of 204 hp and maximum torque of 410 Nm accelerated the BMW 330Cd Coupé in the sprint to 100 km/h from a standing start within just 7.2 seconds. This was enough to convince many doubters. The turbo lag often encountered was virtually entirely avoided with common rail direct injection and an exhaust turbocharger with variable turbine geometry.
