BMW 02 Series

BMW established what was then a new segment of two-door, sporty compact sedans with the models of the BMW 02 Series. Although lots of technical components with almost the same construction were taken from the much larger sedans in the "New Class" ("Neue Klasse"), the BMW 02 Series conveyed a completely new sense of driving which embodied the new BMW slogan "Sheer Driving Pleasure" ("Aus Freude am Fahren"). More than 860,000 automobiles of the BMW 02 Series were sold with a unique design, compact dimensions, sportiness and superlative quality.
