STORY OF THE WEEK
THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE: JASON CAMMISA AND HIS BMW 325i TOURING.
Jason Cammisa was 14 years old when one of his friend’s dad glided spectacularly through snowy suburban New York in a (new at that time) second-generation BMW 3 Series. This proved to be a game-changing experience because Cammisa went on to become a celebrated automobile journalist and he wanted to own a BMW 3 Series from the 1980s. After a long search, Cammisa discovered his prize, covered in grime and loaded with a full set of winter tyres, on a farm: a BMW 325i Touring. Today, the car of his dreams is in perfect condition, it wins trophies and has been admired 2.3 million times in a YouTube clip. Jason will soon be standing in front of the camera again for BMW Group Classic – without his beloved BMW 325i Touring, but equally entertaining. Read more about this in one of the next newsletters.

GOODWOOD REVIVAL: WITH THE MINI BACK TO THE YEAR 1959.
There is no more glamorous event for historic motor sport than the Goodwood Revival (13 – 15 September 2019) held on the estate of the Duke of Richmond in West Sussex. A topic that will be obvious to everybody at this event is the 60th anniversary of MINI. As usual this landmark birthday will be presented here in a highly unique celebration. This includes a cinema that has been authentically decorated to represent 1959. “The Incredible Seven” documentary will be screened (also available on YouTube) there showing the development and market launch of the classic Mini. In addition, BMW Group Classic is presenting a stand in the style of the IAA 1959 at the “March Motor Works” featuring the models shown at the time. British racing driver Maria Costello and Australian Troy Corser will also be lining up at the start astride historic BMW motorcycles in the race for the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy.
