It has become one of those websites where you could spend hours, or even days. The website BMW-Motorrad.de features the menu item Discover – History and this takes you to a newly established, complete model archive. There are pictures, technical data and explanations for every BMW motorcycle from the past 96 years. They define the character and the importance of the individual machine. This is exciting for everyone who has a classic motorcycle (or wants to own one). And it is a fascinating journey through time that has universal appeal. 

Year after year, BMW Group Classic has pleasure in selecting outstanding vehicles for what is undoubtedly the most illustrious event in the firmament of historic motor sport: the Festival of Speed. This year, from 4 to 7 July 2019, three exceptional winning types from different eras will be presented in the grounds of Goodwood House, the country seat of the Duke of Richmond in Sussex. One of these gems is the BMW V12 LMR, winner of the 24 Hour Race of Le Mans in 1999. This BMW 328 Mille Miglia Coupé is some 60 years older and it won the legendary endurance race in Italy in 1940. A first-generation BMW M3 in the touring car racing version is situated between the two.

Many fans already know the story of Dee Fragkos from Athens, who continues to drive and look after the Mini 850 previously owned by his grandfather – this is the same car in which Fragkos was almost born as his mother was being driven to hospital. Since yesterday, he has been on tour in the home country of the British marque with another classic Mini. His incredible MINI Tour to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the marque took him to other MINI fans as a “couch surfer”. We will report about his experiences on the Instagram channel of the classic Mini.
