The fourth generation of the BMW 7 Series was initially presented with V8 petrol engines. The BMW 745i initially assumed the role of top model in this top-range model series. The key model innovations were the fully variable adjustment of the inlet valve stroke (VALVETRONIC) and an intake manifold with variable length. Both measures assisted in reducing consumption by 14% at 14% higher power output. The optional Dynamic Drive again noticeably increased the dynamic driving performance qualities in the area of the chassis.
