The BMW 745d was launched in 2005 and was the diesel version of the fourth 7 Series generation. It had a 3.9-litre V8 biturbo diesel engine with 286 hp and 580 Nm of torque, which provided powerful and efficient performance. Equipped with common-rail direct injection and a diesel particulate filter, it complied with the Euro 4 emissions standard. Power was transmitted via a 6-speed automatic gearbox (SMG), with all-wheel drive (xDrive) available as an option. The adaptive air suspension with electronic damper control offered a good balance of comfort and dynamics. The 745d thus combined strong performance with high driving comfort in the luxury class.
