Constructors’ championship

In 1987, following the driver's titles in the World, European, and German Championships, BMW also won the manufacturer's title in the Touring Car World Championship. This meant that the BMW M3 secured victory in all international racing series in which it participated. Right from the beginning, the BMW M3 dominated the international touring car racing scene, achieving two European Touring Car Championships, two wins in the German Touring Car Championship (DTM), and numerous other international victories and championships. This made it the most successful touring car of all time. The impressive collection of titles in 1987 marks the most successful chapter in the illustrious history of the M3 in racing.
