One year after the new BMW 3 Series Sedan (E36) was launched, the new coupé was presented in the variants 318is, 320i and 325i in 1991. The extended and flattened engine hood created a very elegant and sporty profile for the coupé. In 1995, the two new six-cylinder models BMW 323i and 328i replaced the BMW 325i Coupé. The new 2.8 litre alloy engine was an outstanding performer with unique smooth-running characteristics and dynamic performance, as well as delivering a power output of 193 hp.
