In addition to the four-door BMW 325e Sedan, a two-door “sports version” was also offered in the USA: the BMW 325es. In terms of engine technology it did not differ from the four-door variant with its efficiency-optimized six-cylinder in-line engine (M20B27), but as a "sports version" it had several additional standard equipment highlights. These included a special front bumper with integrated fog lights, a limited slip differential and a sportier suspension with reinforced stabilizer bars. In the interior, it scored points with sports seats and an M-Technic sports steering wheel. Another highlight was the electric sunroof, which was also part of the standard equipment.
