Shortly after its foundation, Bayerische Motoren Werke began to focus on impressive poster art. Renowned poster artists created characteristic designs to accompany the launch of motorcycles and cars and to illustrate motor racing victories. The era of artistically designed posters came to an end in the late 1950s. The advent of photography radically changed the face of advertising. We celebrate four decades of poster art in the service of Bayerische Motoren Werke on a large billboard in the BMW Museum.
