This year, BMW Group Classic will be at the start with two exceptional cars. A BMW 635 CSi from 1983 with Gerhard Berger in the racing seat. And alongside, the most successful touring car of all time, a E30 series BMW M3, driven by the Italian Roberto Regalia. Today, Gerhard Berger is a successful entrepreneur, but his name immediately arouses memories of legendary battles and great successes. Roberto Regalia is the world's first world champion in a touring car. He started his career with a BMW 635 CSi and later became the world champion in a BMW M3. So both of them know how to do it.
From the start, it was Lord March's intention to revive the special atmosphere of the historical races of the 1950s and 1960s. Once more this time round, the range of cars will be huge: From Classic Tin Tops and GTs through to motorcycles and Formula 1 / Formula 3 cars. In 2017, a special focus will be put on 3-litre sports prototypes, the group-A touring cars of the 80s and the GT1 of the 90s. All of this will be perfectly rounded off by live music, shows and fireworks at the end. Goodwood is unique and a perfect celebration for “petrol-saturated” senses.
It all starts at 07:30 on both Saturday and Sunday. The first races start at 09:00. Goodwood is something you just have to experience for yourself.
So ... see you at the track!
